“I am crystal clear on my purpose and that is to leave a legacy, creating legacies”

After spending many years cultivating, developing and exploring my prowess in this subject matter, I have reached a critical juncture in my career and life where I am pulled to teach and train individuals to break barriers as we seek to increase equity and decrease the digital divide. It has been twelve years since I have started on the path to amplify and create representation while driving toward black equity in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) areas. Early on, I realized in order for students to have successful college outcomes, we as faculty have and must cultivate an environment that is equitable, inclusive and free of judgment. Leveraging my empathetic, charismatic and diligent nature to resonate with students and educators alike, we are charged with giving our fullest effort as we prepare future leaders of today and tomorrow.

Having this in mind, over the course of my journey, I have worked as an engineering luminary in some of the largest organizations in aerospace, finance and technology namely, The Vanguard Group, BECU, The Boeing Company and Microsoft. As a Black male leader in technology, I have and continue to mentor, teach, learn and grow as a servant leader in the engineering, technology and security space. Building on my journey as an interdisciplinary leader, I have continued expanding my expertise by obtaining my Masters of Science in Cybersecurity Risk & Strategy from New York University as I continue my legacy helping build and shape others.

It is no secret that there is a shortage of underrepresented minorities in technology serving in positions of power. As a long-term goal, I want to help others who share my unique positionality to have a voice, have a seat at the table making key business decisions and have an influential presence in the technology and technology leadership capacities. This is something that for many years, still poses a challenge and is continuing to grow as we advance in areas such  make some changes today.
